Event Description:
Most Bylaws require that the affairs of the Association be conducted “in accordance with Robert’s Rules, or some other form of Parliamentary Procedure…” However, recent amendments to the Nonprofit Corporation Act as well as rulings from the Michigan Court of Appeals cast doubt on the continuing significance and utility of these rules for Associations and their Boards. This class will examine some of these new developments in the law and the extent to which Robert’s Rules may still have value for Associations and Boards.
